Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 - General Availability Release

Just got off a conference call with some of the Microsoft Dynamics GP executives who announced general availability of Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010, the highly anticipated new release of Microsoft's ERP solution for the SMB market, on May 1, 2010 -- just five days after Convergence Atlanta event.

In preparation for the launch event, Microsoft has scheduled a number of partner roadshow events around 19 cities in the United States, giving partners the opportunity to come in contact with the product and learn the key closing strategies. If you are a Dynamics GP customer, expect a number of partner events that will give you a chance to experience the GP 2010 buzz.

I know this seems like a trivia question, but recently I have come across a number of clients who have been using Microsoft Dynamics GP for a number of years and have been told by their former partners that they *must* use the predefined currency IDs created after adding the sample company, with no real explanation to support these claims. Case in point, my new client in Saudi Arabia, has been struggling for years to understand why they were told to prefix all currency IDs with the "Z-". Hello all! It's been quite a while since I've actually written anything of remote interest to anyone who follows my blog, but at the same time, you will be pleased to know that I've been quite busy in the consulting front, with upgrades, server migrations, complex multi-instance postings involving 10's of thousands of transactions, wrapping up some Field Service Automation projects, and the list goes on and on. A .NET Framework error occurred during the execution of user-defined routine or aggregate "GetAssignedUsers"

So, I found myself helping a client to troubleshoot a workflow issue. After configuring workflow a few weeks aback and running a few tests without any issues, we applied Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 R2 January 2016 Hotfix. Now, when the client went to execute the workflow, he received the corresponding email indicating there was a purchase order to approve. He then proceeded to click the Approve hyperlink and the process continued as expected. After clicking the Approve button, the client receive the following error message: The server encountered an error processing the request. See server logs for more details The following shows the error as displayed on the client's screen. At this point, it is worth stating that the workflow ran to completion and the PO appeared completely approved and fine in Dynamics GP, so whatever was causing this error did not seem to interrupt the approval flow.
